Directions: Choose three quotes that one of your characters have said in your novel. For each quote write a separate paragraph and explain the following.

Remember: Each quote must have the answers to all of the questions below written in one paragraph.

• Explain why you liked that quote. How did it help you understand the story better?

• What pictures formed in your head as he/she said the words?

• Explain how -what the character said -is important to the main ideas in the plot.

• Connect what the character said to a theme in the novel and explain how the character's words highlight the theme. 

• What connection can you make to your own experiences?

• What connection can you make to other things you have read?
